A friend of mine had asked me if I was concerned about Osama Bin Laden sending terrorists to make a chemical or biological attack on New Jersey.

I think I laughed for a full five minutes.

A chemical or biological attack on people who live on top of the world's highest radon concentrations and have the highest incidents of Lyme's disease on the planet...

Would we even notice? Even in a nuclear first strike?

January 23, 2002

I, obviously, wrote this before the Anthrax attack on New Jersey. I, myself, was indirectly affected by this last attack as there were contaminated post offices in Jackson Township and Monmouth County, as mail was slowed up and we had to take the "appropriate" precautions against inhalation Anthrax. (Rubber gloves, and bleach to some degree.)

There was a 1 in 50 chance that New Jersey would be affected by terrorism. How was I supposed to know that the terrorists have bases in Newark and Jersey City?
