The Power of Cod
Far away in the tropical waters of the Caribbean two prawns
were swimming around, one called Justin and the other called
Christian.
They were constantly being hassled and bothered by sharks that
patrolled the area. Finally one day, Justin said to Christian,
"I'm bored and frustrated at being a prawn. I want to be
a shark, then I wouldn't have any worries about being eaten."
As Justin had his mind firmly fixed on becoming a shark, a
mysterious cod appears and says, "Your wish is granted"
and lo and behold, Justin turns into a shark.
Horrified, Christian immediately swims away afraid of being
eaten by his old mate. Time goes by and Justin becomes bored
and lonely as a shark. All his old mates swam away soon as he
came near. Justin didn't realise his menacing appearance was
the cause of his sad plight.
One day while out swimming alone, he sees the mysterious cod
again and can't believe his luck. He begs the cod to change
him back to a prawn and lo and behold, he does.
With tears of joy in his tiny little eyes he swims back to
his friends and buys them all a cocktail. Looking around the
gathering on the reef, he asks where his friend Christian is.
"He's at home distraught since his best friend became a
shark," says one of the prawns.
Eager to put things right, he sets off to Christian's house.
As he opens the coral gate, memories come flooding back to him.
He bangs on the door and shouts, "It's me, Justin, your
old friend! Come out and see me again!"
Christian replied, "No way man, you are the enemy and
I won't be tricked."
Justin cried back, "No that was the old me. I've changed,
" I've seen Cod and I'm a prawn again Christian!"
