Unhusked Corn (on Cob)
1. Pre-Heat oven of 525 Degrees (the setting just before broil).
2. Wet corn, still in husk (unshucked, under
tap) and place in baking pan.
3. Place in oven for 40 minutes, then remove.
4. Shuck at table, butter and salt to your liking.
NOTES:
After watching Murder is Corny, a Nero Wolfe
mystery on A&E, I pulled out my old
Nero Wolfe Cookbook and decided to try this one. According
to Wolfe, it is best if the corn you have is FRESH (as in picked
that day).
It is ambrosia
July 21st, 2002 - Update
I finally got to try this for the 2002 summer.
I soaked the corn in a large pot of water for about an hour.
Then I put the corn in a roasting pan (still unshucked) into
a preheated oven (as hot as it could be without broiling).
40 minutes (you may turn the corn in twenty).
It was unbelievably good. Butter and salt.
